Capital Project Updates
Elevator Modernization – Otis has completed the modernization of all three elevators in the project. All three have been inspected by the State and are in service. This completes this project.
Replacement Chiller – There are no changes in the schedule for the delivery of the new chiller for HSC. It is still scheduled to be shipped from Trane to Brady between July 13th – 20th. We worked with Travelers Insurance on the insurance claim for the HSC York chiller and have received a settlement insurance claim from Travelers in the amount of $76,908.97 after the $10,000 deductible for the policy. This amount is for the damage that was done to the circuit boards only when the unit grounded out for repair/replacement cost of parts and labor along with setup and take down cost and 1 month rental for the temporary chiller.
HVAC Equipment Replacement – This project was put out to bid on 6-10-21 by advertising in the Alamance News and online on the County web site. The pre-bid is scheduled for 6-17-21. The County met with Edmondson Engineers to make changes in the original scope of work for the SDS 1st floor section (due to changes in the use of this area to make it 3 separate zones with 3 HVAC units instead of 1 large unit for better control of temps in the 3 zones due to usage).
Restroom Upfits – Waddell Construction has completed sheetrocking and painting the walls in all the restrooms. Waddell Construction is in the process of replacing the ceiling tiles in the restrooms and are scheduled to replace the VCT in 4 of the 2nd floor restrooms next week. Once the vinyl cove base is installed and the toilets are back in place, Waddell Construction will be finished with their portion of the project. We have TRI Solutions scheduled to come in late this month to clean and seal the ceramic tile floors in the eight total restrooms on SG, G and 2nd floor that have ceramic tile floors. DSS has also contracted with Waddell Construction and TRI to do the two common restrooms on the 3rd floor.
